SaddleTree Research Confirms IEX as Workforce Management Leader Strong Customer Service, Scalable Solution and Single-Server Architecture Expand Market Share

IEX, a Tekelec company (Nasdaq:TKLC) and a leading provider of contact center productivity solutions, today announced that SaddleTree Research, a high-technology market research firm, named IEX the market share leader in a recent report on "The U.S. Workforce Management Software Market: 2002 ? 2006." With the release of the report, SaddleTree Research joins a growing number of industry analyst firms confirming the IEX TotalViewR solution's leadership position in the workforce management industry.

According to the report, IEX is the market share leader in terms of both revenue and workforce management seats shipped during 2001. The report also notes the company's increased success in the under 100-agent market segment with its TotalView SC solution designed for small contact center operations. This specially packaged version of TotalView delivers the benefits of automated workforce management to small contact centers and provides a seamless upgrade path as they grow larger or expand in complexity.

"IEX has a record of profitability that is unmatched in the contact center industry. Their leadership in the workforce management field is a direct result of the company's ability to deliver a solid product that is highly competitive in terms of features, functionality and a demonstrable return on investment," said Paul Stockford, Saddletree Research chief analyst. "IEX's reputation for customer service and financial stability have served the company well in terms of moving the company into a market leadership position."

The SaddleTree Research report goes on to describe several key advantages within TotalView Workforce Management, in particular the system's single-server architecture. While other competitors in the market require several servers for complex or distributed contact center applications, the TotalView solution supports these same environments with a single server.

Lower equipment costs, reduced maintenance requirements and enhanced reliability are significant benefits IEX customers realize from this architectural approach compared to that of its competitors. "We are very honored to be recognized by SaddleTree Research as the market share leader in workforce management," said Debbie May, IEX general manager. "IEX has a long standing reputation of continued focus on customer satisfaction and full-featured workforce management offerings. We are committed to maintaining and expanding our industry leadership position by delivering outstanding value to our customers in helping them hold the line on operating costs without sacrificing quality of service." TotalView Workforce Management is a comprehensive productivity management solution enabling contact centers to deliver consistent service, lower operating costs and boost employee morale. The product automates the process of scheduling service agents in a single or multisite center, accurately matching available resources to forecasted workloads. Additional features include skills-based and multimedia scheduling, real-time and historical adherence, short-term and long-term resource planning, intraday management, vacation and holiday planning, enterprise reporting and Web-based accessibility for agent schedules and performance statistics.
